Editorial Policy
We write specifications, comparisons and guides from the published product information for each item: the specifications, features and materials stated for that product.
Ratings and reviews on this site are real ones left by people who bought the product. We collect them, we do not write them, and we publish the quotes exactly as they were written, including spelling and punctuation we would not have used ourselves. Where we shorten a quote we mark it, and we never shorten one in a way that removes a criticism: a review that ends badly is published whole or not at all.
The selection is deliberately mixed. A page where every review is five stars reads as advertising rather than as a catalogue, so critical reviews are chosen alongside positive ones, and the reviews shown are spread across the range rather than taken from whichever model happens to look best. Each quote carries the reviewer's name, star rating and date, and links to the product page where the rest of the reviews are.
Star ratings and review counts are the figures published for that product on the date shown. A product with no published rating simply shows no stars, and the page markup carries none either.
Comparisons and buying guidance (for example, which cooktop suits which kind of kitchen) reflect our own analysis of the published specifications, not paid placement. Nothing on this site is paid inclusion or favorable treatment in exchange for money.
If you spot an error, an outdated specification, or a broken link, we want to know. We correct promptly once we have checked the point.
